Krispy Kreme was founded in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, by Vernon Rudolph. Krispy Kreme prices can be high if you buy individual donuts, but they’re quite affordable when bought by the dozen. In fact, savings are about 35% when comparing prices of a dozen vs. 12 individual donuts.

The biggest competitor to Krispy Kreme is the fellow donut restaurant Dunkin’ Donuts. They offer similar menus, although Dunkin’ Donuts tends to have a larger one.

“Don’t Be Surprised By The Cost of Fast Food”

  2. Brent Hale says:

My son’s birthday is today. He asked for krispy Kreme Donuts. I saw on your menu if you purchase 2 dozen they are cheaper than buying one dozen. I had to buy 4 dozen. So I asked the manager and his response was not at this store. So I had to pay $8.49 per dozen. When I returned home, my wife was furious. Your menu and price menu on line is miss leading and not correct. I still forked out the money , because of it being my son’s birthday. I will probably not return after this experience. 1. Editorial Staff says:

      Sorry to hear that Brent.

We are not affiliated with Krispy Kreme or any of the other restaurants. We just want to show the people the best deals these restaurants have. And because most of these restaurants are individual franchises, many of them are able to set their own rules in regards to specials or accepting discounts.

      1. This is likely from that location being a franchise…. unfortunately there are very few corporate ran fast food places anymore. The great part is the franchisor (Krispy Kreme, Burger King, Jack in the Box, ect.) make money whether that location makes money or not, the bad part is the franchisor has outsourced the running of that location to a franchisee, who in a large number or cases is only interested in making the most money they can while at the same time spending the least they can. So often times you get worse service since employees are usually paid less at a franchise, the facility usually deteriorates because the franchisee won’t spend the money on upkeep, and you sometimes get inconsistency in prices and product availability because you have a business owner (franchisee) who doesn’t feel they need to do things the way corporate says because after all it is “their” business. Maybe it will take another Foodmaker style foodborne illness to get these stupid fast food companies to run their own stores instead of outsourcing once and for all.

    2. You’re seriously complaning about spending $33.96 as opposed to $31.78 (the price if they’d applied the Double Dozen deal) on YOUR SON’S BIRTHDAY. You pathetic cheapskate hahahahaha. Here, give me your address and I’ll wire you the $2.20 extra that you paid. #YouArePathetic

Please do send him the money. Obviously his taste in brands and income clash. Or his wife is off her rocker. Probably both…

    3. omg it says at the bottom of the page these prices should be used as estimates. NOT EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND YOU AND GO COMPLAIN AT THE STORE IF ITS REALLY SCREWED YOU OVER

  3. Crying over a little more than $2… To make matter worse, it was your son’s friggin birthday. Well done Brent….

  4. Paula Haller says:

Perhaps you should have called the store you are going to to VERIFY that the online deal pertained to THAT store. Not every store has the same discounts.

  5. Krispy kreme has the best donuts bottom line. That being said, Im 32 yrs old and all through middle school and highschool i could buy a dozen for about 2.50…and if you got someone cool they would stick a few more in the box for you. Then they went public and national and prices went up. 14 yrs later its 8.50 a dozen. Did the price of sugar and dough go up that much. I guess if people are willing to pay for it its a solid business model…but its kind of a shame. Im just saying.

  6. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT- BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER. Krispy Kreme has the best doughnuts, no question about that factoid. I first experienced them in the Smoky Mountains with my family while we rented a cabin. THEY ARE DELISH. Honestly, the best doughnuts on the face of the Earth. Sorry, Dunk n’ Donuts but Krispy wins this round.

  16. 6 donuts for 7 bucks. But for 2 dollars more, I get another 6? Get the workers please try to establish a certain form of customer service and tell us about the savings. Because I had to look at the menu/prices, just to make sure they were correct. Because I could have sworn I purchased 6 boveraian and 4 other donuts, and I came home and only got 6. I should have just gone to walmart to get the 6 bovarian for 3 dollars.

Well to be perfectly honest, this is just my opinion, without offending anyone who might think differently. From my point of view, looking at this with a different perspective and without condemning anyone’s view’s or by trying to objectify them, while considering each and every one’s valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say. 🤔

    1. Chrsitina says:
