Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 in Glendale, California, by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins. Their last names combined form the company’s name, “Baskin-Robbins.” Although originally started in Glendale, California, the company is today headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts.

Baskin-Robbins’s main country-wide competitor is Dairy Queen since they both sell similar ice cream products. Baskin-Robbins prices are also similar to Dairy Queen, although Dairy Queen does tend to be a bit cheaper for its soft serve items.

I’m really disappointed in the company. I have colon cancer and I know that it is not your problem, but I love the enjoy life and I can afford much. The one the I do enjoy are your ice cream and the ones that I really enjoy are lemonade, baseball nut, blueberry cheese cake. I understand that you don’t have lemonade ice cream anymore, why? I have to be careful as to what I eat and I really enjoyed lemonade ice cream, it helps me with what I’m going through I need all the help I can get. I have so much drama in my life you have no ideal, little things like this helps me to get through the day. Thank you. Gail McAllister. (714) 545-0536/(714)293-2397

Mr/Mrs McAllister, we stopped carrying lemonade ice cream because an ingredient in it was found to be a major cause of colon cancer many years ago. We have done some research but have not found a suitable replacement for it. In the meantime, please try our wonderful new flavor, Movie Theater Popcorn, it’s the Flavor of the Month. Enjoy!

      1. You know people come from other countries right and they have different languages and what if they were a let’s say 34 years old you can’t just go to school like that. And btw you can’t just learn English right away.

  6. tom bollinger says:

    1. bill koura says:

…I agree –BR’s prices are too damn high! Go to your local market or grocery & purchase ice cream there…at least you won’t be ripped off so much & even the toppings are less expensive in the grocery stores!

  9. Wow, are there only little kids commenting here? Anyways, to that person with the cancer, that is no ones problem or obligation to suit you! Theyre not gonna bring a flavor back juat because you have cancer and cant have anything else which by the way is total bs. I think i might have just gotten cancer from these comments. Anyway, ive never been to or had baskin robbins but it looks super yummy. In regards to the prices, eh. Yea its a lot higher than normal but for me, i’ll be glad to pay it if its not my money. But if you know before hand what the prices are, make sure you have at least 10 dollars and go buy yourself something! The website is currently down so i cant look into it much but im really looking forward to tryong BR.

    1. Tammi Cline says:

Ummmm..GEEZ! You DO NOT lose money when you lower your prices because “50x” more people will be buying your products and you cant say anything about then the cost of buying more supplies because the more bulk you buy, those prices for you become cheaper too!! You’re a manager and should get this, plus it isnt rocket science! Your prices are NOT great! And hello..try listening to your customers and cut the greed! Look at the comments here..people want the products but everyone agrees they dont go to you because YOUR PRICES ARE TO HIGH..and remember, before your doors are forced to close, look around you, there will always be some place maybe better, maybe not, but definately cheaper! and in these tough times, you need to stay competitive..there is no room for greed, people are tired of it and you will be the ones paying the price!! Be smarter!

    2. Tammi Cline says:

Your comnent was pretty rude to the lady with cancer…what if it were you or someone you know? She was simply commenting how she thinks and feels and maybe the lemonade was soothing to the effects that she experiences. Then you want to comment that only kids seem to be commenting on here? It’s people expressing their opinions and what doesnt matter is what or who YOU think they sound like!!! Your comment sounded disrespectful and immature, so before you go bashing other people, think first, then act yourself as a mature, respectful, and intelligent adult!!

  10. Bill Clinton says:

Baskin Robbin’s has great prices I’m a manager and we are losing money by offering such low prices. Our ice cream is made in containers made of pure 24 carat gold, lending to our distinct flavor and our toppings are imported from Italy. Quality products at great prices, go get a cone today!

  11. Valerie Fee says:

I took my four year old twins into the Harbor City store this afternoon because they wanted a single scoop of the kids’s size. I was told a single scoop cost $3.99! I left and purchased a half gallon tub of my favorite ice cream from Ralphs on sale for $2.49. I will never, ever go to a Baskin Robbins again.

  12. MD Taylor says:

The new store in Whiteville, NC charged my husband $9.25 for 2 scoops. Short man from India’s very rude. Then I took my I-pad with this menus and asked for hand dip quart. They charged me $16,25 until I showed them the menu on line. I then got it for $8.25 plus tax. But the tall man from India was so nice after that. Very handsome. Ripping people off but very handsome.

  13. Tony Stark says:

These comments are pure gold! Of course it’s expensive it’s a fvckn ice cream shop not a grocery store. Just like buying a 12 pack of beer at a grocery store for the price of a single beer at a baseball game. At least when you spend at BR you get a high quality product.
