Dunkin’ is about to release one of the most popular lattes in the industry. The Matcha Latte will be available at particiapting Dunkin’ locations nationwide starting Wednesday, February 26. Customers can order this green, creamy latte hot, iced, or blended. As you would with any espresso latte, you can order the sweetened Matcha Latte with your choice of milk (Dunkin’ serves skim, whole, and almond milk – oat milk coming soon!).
So, what is Matcha, exactly? According to a Dunkin’ news release, “As compared to traditional green tea, where the tea leaves are steeped or brewed, Matcha is made by stone grinding young green tea leaf buds into a fine powder. Dunkin’s Matcha Lattes feature high-quality Matcha green tea powder, produced in the Nishio region of Aichi prefecture, Japan, where the finest Matcha has been grown for more than 800 years.”
You’ll need something to pair with your Matcha Latte, though. Alongside the new green tea drink, Dunkin’ will also be offering a new bakery item, the Protein Muffin, which is loaded with healthy ingredients like sunflower and pumpkin seeds, as well as blueberries and cranberries.
In addition to Dunkin’s Matcha Latte and Protein Muffin, the franchise also plans to release a new Oat Milk Latte in the spring.
