Dairy Queen has announced the Mint Oreo Blizzard as the Blizzard of the Month for March. In true St. Patrick’s Day fashion, the blizzard is a festive shade of mint-green with chunks of Oreo throughout the ice cream. It starts with a base soft serve ice cream, blended with creme de menthe flavor, and Oreo cookie pieces.
This is not the first time the Mint Oreo Blizzard has been highlighted during the month of March. This sweet, minty treat has been around for years, popping up on the menu around early spring for a limited time. The Mint Oreo Blizzard was the Blizzard of the Month last March, as well. Dairy Queen is also currently running a BOGO for 80 cents Blizzard promotion. Two Mint Oreo treats for nearly the price of one? It doesn’t get much better than that.
Not a huge Oreo fan? Dairy Queen also recently rolled out a spinoff of the Mint Oreo Blizzard, the Mint Shake. With similar flavors, this treat features vanilla soft serve, milk, and creme de menthe blended, topped with whipped cream. Other fast-food chains have been rolling out similar products this month that showcase St. Patrick’s Day-inspired cuisine. McDonald’s brought back the classic Shamrock Shake, but they’re also serving up a new Oreo Shamrock McFlurry (similar vibes to DQ’s Blizzard of the month). Dunkin’ just rolled out the Irish Creme coffee flavor and Lucky Shamrock Donut. What’s your favorite mint fast food item? Let us know in the comments below.
