Sometimes, in the dead of winter, we need a little reminder of what summer feels like. And while I can’t afford to fly you all to the beach, I can share one of my favorite hacks for drifting off into mid-June weather (in my head, that is). My quick fix is Starbucks Banana Split Frappuccino, one of the most popular and comforting drinks on the Secret Menu. It’s made from ingredients that every Starbucks location has on hand for other beverages on the menu, so no matter where you live, you should be able to order one. In fact, the Banana Split Frappuccino has made it’s way onto the official Starbucks menu a time or two because of how popular it is. Here’s a peek at how to ask for one next time you need a little summertime pick-me-up.
How to Order the Banana Split Frappuccino

Ordering the Banana Split Frappuccino is super simple. Many Starbucks cafes will temporarily add the frapp to their seasonal menus during June and July, but even if it’s not being advertised (or it’s the dead of winter), you can still ask for one. Try ordering it by name, but if your barista needs clarification or if you’re ordering with the mobile app, bookmark this page so you have the full ingredients list on hand.
Here’s the recipe:
- Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino
- Vanilla bean powder
- Java chips
- A banana
- Toppings – whipped cream, mocha drizzle, caramel, and dried strawberries
There’s an alternative recipe that some Starbucks locations have been serving, which starts with a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino instead of the Strawberries and Creme one. Then, you’ll ask for real strawberries, banana, java chips, caramel drizzle, and mocha drizzle. The mocha and caramel drizzle should go on the inside of the cup instead of on top. Not all Starbucks locations have real strawberries, but if they do, this is the version I’d recommend.

Pricing
The cost of a Banana Split Frapp may vary by location, but a grande size will typically be around $6.80 and a venti will be $7.30. Because there is a full banana in the recipe, they usually won’t make this one in a tall size.
