Top 4 Unusual Breakfast Menu

A lot of people consider breakfast as their favorite meal of the day. The smell of food being prepared in the kitchen will make you conjure up images of a lazy Sunday mornin,, waking up late, and munching on toast with butter and jam and some fruits. It’s not even uncommon to crave for breakfast food even at lunch time or dinner, especially if you’ve had a long day, or when you’re having a tough week.

Luckily, you won’t have to settle for a bland sandwich you brought from home when you’re craving for a big and sumptuous breakfast meal. Tons of fast food chains carry all day menus that are sure to make your mouth water.

We’ve checked what makes their menu special, and we’re pleasantly surprised to note that they’re not the regular ham and bacon combinations we see all the time. Some have varieties using the usual ingredients, but are presented in a more exciting way. Some also have food choices that you’d never realize are available for breakfast.



So, what’s cooking?

  1. Subway

When you think about Subway, maybe all you can imagine are their delicious submarine sandwiches in all their fresh goodness. But did you know they also have morning specials? The Subway breakfast hours are normally from 7 am to 11 am, from Mondays to Fridays. Do note however, that this can vary from region to region, so you may want to check the hours of your local store.

Begin your day with a toasted flat bread that’s filled with crispy bacon, melty cheese, and egg. There’s no way this trio powerhouse can go wrong, but wait ‘till it gets better when you add spicy jalapenos and juicy tomatoes. Your bacon can be replaced with black forest ham or steak. You will surely love these tender offerings even if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. If you don’t feel like going out of the house, you can always get a Subway delivery.

  1. Steak ‘n Shake


Now here’s something for someone with a big appetite. Get ready for the Steak ‘n Shake skillets. Their California Skillet is made of shredded hash browns topped with cheddar, pico de gallo, your choice of grilled chicken or sausage (both mixed with scrambled egg), and slices of fresh avocado.

Their Country skillet is hash browns crowned with a couple of eggs, cheddar, sausage gravy, sausage patty, and buttermilk biscuit. On the other hand, their Portobello ‘n Sausage shredded hash browns is topped with a combination of Portobello mushrooms, sausage crumbles, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese. If these are not enough for you and your family, get a load of cheddar scrambler, all you can eat pancakes, and sausage ‘n gravy biscuits.

  1. Panera

Just the look of a Panera bread can make you fall in love with bread all over again. Let’s dissect one of their best sellers: the Avocado, Egg White & Spinach Power Sandwich. Its bread is a Sprouted Grain Bagel Flat (freshly baked!), and in between the buns are fresh avocado, thick slice of Vermont white cheddar, fresh tomato, and baby spinach. This is enough to make you want to drive to Panera right this moment.

Their other sandwiches have Turkey sausage, Mediterranean egg, and steak. Breads you can choose from are whole grain, ciabatta, and bagel. Try their baked soufflés with four cheese, spinach and artichoke, bacon, mushroom and sofrito. Other healthy favorites include Power Almond Quinoa Oatmeal, Steel Cut Oatmeal with Strawberries & Pecans, Strawberry Granola Parfait, and Honey Almond Greek Yogurt Parfait.

We’re not sure if pizza is your jam in the morning; but if it is, then you’d be glad to know Rainforest Café creates pizzas for this specific mealtime. They have the Pie of the Viper with Bacon, which is freshly baked Mexican-style Pizza with salsa spread, topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, Roma tomatoes, cheddar, green, red, and poblano Peppers, four cheese blend and fresh cilantro. They also have the Pie of the Viper with Sausage, which is another Mexican-style Pizza with salsa spread, Roma tomatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, Poblano, red, and green peppers, four cheese blend, cheddar, and cilantro.

For something fruity, you can try their Cha! Cha!’s Wild Waffle, which is their version of Belgian Waffle (always freshly made!), served with maple syrup, fresh bananas and strawberries, and your choice of sausage or bacon.
