From chili to loaded baked potatoes and Frosties, Wendy’s has the whole comfort-food thing down to a science, but that’s not all they’ve perfected in their 50 years of business. Wendy’s dominates the fast food industry with their burger selection, too, offering some things that are simply hard to find when you pull up to a drive-through: quality, consistency, and freshness. However, when you’re ordering your beloved Baconator, you probably don’t think too much about that “always fresh and never frozen” slogan. Instead, you probably drool over the thought of that giant, greasy burger (no judgement here, we love a good bacon cheeseburger as much as the next guy). Here’s a look at the five best burgers at Wendy’s.
Which one’s your go-to?
Ever since the Baconator was introduced to the Wendy’s menu back in 2007, it has been a fan favorite. With not one, but two beef patties and cheese slices, this masterpiece is topped with crispy bacon, mayo, and ketchup. While it seems like most fast food places have cut down on their portion sizes, the Baconator has withstood time, remaining one of the most filling, substantial options on the Wendy’s menu.
But, if you’re not in the mood for 940 calories – or you just want to leave room for a Frosty – there is a downsized version of the Baconator, the Son of Baconator that is just as delicious and racks up to 630 calories.
Dave’s Double™ was launched to meet the ever-changing trends in burger making. As more fast food chains offer larger portions, Wendy’s offers double ½ pound pure beef patties that are way more juicy and tasty than their previous recipe. It also has more melted cheese, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, mayo and ketchup in a buttered premium bun. Named after Wendy’s founder Dave, they say this burger is something he’s quite proud of.
Side note – we know what you’re thinking: if there’s a Dave’s Double, is there a Dave’s Single. Of course there is! Dave’s got a family of three with the Single, Double, and Triple depending on your appetite.
Don’t let the daunting “Junior” scare you away from ordering this Wendy’s burger if you’re hungry. The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is the star of the show on the Wendy’s Value Menu and is a good alternative if you want something a bit cheaper than the Baconator.
The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is served with a pure beef patty (a little smaller than the ¼ pound patty found in Baconator), strips of crispy Applewood smoked bacon, melted American cheese, fresh crisp lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and ketchup on a premium burger bun. If you want to fill up on something more than this value burger, we recommend pairing it with another affordable menu item like the Value Natural-Cut Fries, the side salad, or the small Chocolate Frosty.
Although the name might make you picture a hefty burger, the Double Stack is actually one of the smaller items, hence being on the value menu. However, for just over two dollars, it’s a solid option and one of Wendy’s best sellers. The Double Stack offers two juicy and tasty pure beef patties, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, onions, pickles, mustard, and ketchup in their signature premium bun. In our expert opinion, it is a delicious balance between taste and value.
Wendy’s said it best: “It’s big flavor at a junior price.” For less than two bucks, you can get a perfect combination of meaty goodness and healthy, refreshing veggies. The Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe may be a little less complicated than our four prior choices, but we guarantee you that this still has all the burger essentials there are: pure beef juicy patty, melted cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles in a premium burger bun.
Wendy’s menu prices may vary from different states, you can always get high-quality, delicious meals at an affordable price. So, are you ready for you next Wendy’s run? You can’t go wrong with ordering any one of these best burgers from Wendy’s. But, if you didn’t find what you were looking for, check out our favorites from the Value Menu.
