Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is an American restaurant founded in 1965. Ruth Fertel, the founder of the company, ran the first restaurant for a while after a kitchen fire destroyed it. Ruth had no choice but to relocate her business while she also expanded on the structure. Within ten days, she reopened the restaurant, but she had trouble using a different name for the restaurant, which was then called Chris Steak House.
Ruth then decided to place her name in front of Chris Steak House, which is how the name Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse came to be. The restaurant’s first location was in New Orleans, Louisiana, and since then has grown to a franchise of more than 100 Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, and Taiwan.
