rooftop bars denver

Visiting Denver for a few days? Then you don’t want to miss the stunning views of the Rocky Mountains or the Denver skyline from some of the city’s rooftop bars. After all, it isn’t called the Mile High City for nothing!

Colorado’s capital has an interesting collection of sky-high lounges, sports bars, and everything in-between. There is no shortage of great joints to unwind both indoors and outdoors.

But how do you find the best rooftop bars in Denver?

Simple! Scroll through this list.

We’ve pieced together some of the awesome elevated spots that offer not only great views but also have classic menus.

El Five

El Five

Take in the spectacular views of Denver’s skyline while enjoying crafted signature cocktails at El Five. This bar is aptly named so partly because it is seated high on the fifth floor of LoHi’s Umatilla street.

Besides the breathtaking and unobstructed view of the city’s sprawling highlands and unparalleled sunset view, El Five offers some of the best Mediterranean tastes, including Tapas De Gilbraltar, Mezze Platters, and many other flavors from across the region.

Sip some Bodega, Domaine Maestracci, or Sangria served in pitchers while you enjoy the panoramic view of the highlands from the indoor lounge. For a better outdoor experience, grab a sit on the exquisite open-air rooftop patio.

The rooftop bar is open every day of the week for late lunch and dinner.

Here’s something to keep in mind if you are thinking of spending the evening at El Five. It is a popular spot (thanks to its Mediterranean classics!), so it is usually best to make reservations.

ViewHouse Ballpark

VviewHouse Ballpark

ViewHouse Ballpark is an eatery, bar, and rooftop all rolled into one. Locals and regular visitors choose this venue for its exciting activities, fun energy, and chef-driven menu. It even has a kids’ menu, just in case you’re dining with the family.

Several themed parties usually line the calendar at this venue. There’s even a video trivia, Valentine-themed brunch, and ladies lounge on some days of the week. There’s simply no dull moment at this joint, making it one of the best rooftop bars in Denver for those who really enjoy combining casual eating with lots of fun, and good drinks, too!

Okay, not everyone likes a place that’s a hive of activities. And if that’s you, saunter to the rooftop. Linger

linger rooftop bar

If you happened to drive through Denver’s LoHi district, keep an eye out for a large neon sign towering over an old mortuary. It says Linger meaturies!

The chefs here describe themselves as renegades of flavors and masters of remix. What you might not be aware of is that the “remixes” happen inside a repurposed food truck that serves as the kitchen. Somehow, Linger manages to carry the kitchen and a retro GMC RV up to its rooftop patio!

As weird as all of these combos might seem, Linger is where you should be heading if you want to spend the evening sipping a glass of the best handcrafted cocktails and locally made brews in all of Denver!

The dishes? They consist of savory flavors from cuisines across the world, including Asia, Italy, Morocco, India, and Turkey.

But the most spectacular thing about Linger is the view from the elevated rooftop bar. You’ll find the rooftop patio quite irresistible – you can see and feel the vibrant neighborhood and radiant city lights from the elevated spot.

While many restaurants can be notorious for serving up unhealthy food and drink, Linger is known for playing a big role in supporting mother earth. The restaurant offers responsibly-sourced foods on its menu.

Linger opens daily for dinner and serves brunch during the weekends.

Ale House at Amato’s

ale house at amato's

For over six decades, Carlo Amato flourished in the LoHi area of Denver. Now, Ale House occupies the same space, but instead of dealing in flowers and sculptures, it serves handcrafted cocktails and craft beer to its numerous guests.

Although it serves a wide selection of traditional dishes, the alehouse is both stylish and modern, with a rooftop bar that provides sweeping views of the Denver skyline.

The local craft beer at Ale House is nothing short of great. But to take things even further, they are paired with homemade classic American bites, such as a cobb salad and pulled pork sandwich.

Little wonder the food and ale are aptly described at a match made in beer heaven!

Ale House opens daily for lunch and dinner. This Denver rooftop bar is popular with the locals, and that’s not too surprising given the friendly atmosphere combined with great food and beer.

Take our advice and reserve a spot at this Denver rooftop bar if you’re planning to get a great view of downtown Denver from this joint to go along with your delicious food and drink.
