Little Caesars has made it their mission to offer ready-made pizzas with the best value at the best prices, and it seems like they continue to meet and exceed their goal. Sure, their pizzas aren’t gourmet pies, but they’re an excellent value for the money. They must be doing something right as they’re the third-largest pizza chain in the world, with stores in each of the 50 U.S. states and 27 countries and territories. The chain has recently reintroduced their Pretzel Crust Pizza, which is great news for people like me who go to the mall just for a slice of pizza and a giant hot pretzel. Combining two things I love makes me a happy customer. Now let’s dig into this Little Caesars Pretzel Pizza review. 

History and Inspiration

Little Caesars first introduced the Pretzel Crust Pizza in 2014, a soft-crust pizza with cheddar cheese sauce, mozzarella and Muenster cheeses and pepperoni. The idea was simple- take two things we all love and combine them for an unbeatable pizza we can’t pass up. Instead of a regular pizza crust, the pizza is made with pretzel dough, and the pizza sauce is made with a rich, creamy cheddar cheese sauce instead of marinara. Home of the $5 Hot-N-Ready Pizza, Little Caesars hit another home run with this Pretzel Crust Pizza. 

Types of Little Caesars Pretzel Pizza

Little Caesars didn’t stop with the Pretzel Pizza. The chain also offers a Stuffed Pretzel Crust Pizza. This new pie features a round soft pretzel crust pizza with a cheese-stuffed crust, and it also comes topped with cheddar cheese sauce, mozzarella, muenster, and pepperoni. Both options are reasonable price-wise, and I’m not sure you could find a better deal. The regular Pretzel Pizza is $6, while the Stuffed Pretzel Crust is $9. But those prices are almost as good as the giant soft pretzels you buy at the mall.

Little Caesars started the year out right by re-introducing their Pretzel Crust Pizza after a hiatus for a year. While the regular Pretzel Crust is offered nationwide, the Stuffed Pretzel Crust is only available at selected locations, so be sure to check with your local restaurants for availability. 

1.      Taste and Texture [4/5]

To begin with, this is a dense crust full of cheese, bread, and carbs. It smells overwhelmingly cheesy and pretzel-y, so you know you’re going to bite into something binge-worthy. The pretzel crust tastes more like a pretzel you might find in the grocery store freezer aisle and not as much like the giant pretzels I see at the mall. Slightly disappointing, but not enough to forget the whole thing. The creamy cheddar cheese sauce replaces regular marinara pizza sauce, but it can be overwhelming in taste and saltiness. I would love to try a Pretzel Pizza with marinara sauce; I enjoy dipping soft pretzels in sauce, so why not? A blend of Asiago, Fontina, Parmesan, and white cheddar cheeses sits on top of the cheese sauce, so yes, it’s a very cheesy pizza. The cheese and salt are both applied liberally, and the pepperonis taste just like the Little Caesars Classic. The overall flavor is like your typical soft pretzel dipped in cheese.

2. Are they healthy? [1/5]

This pizza is full of sodium, salt, and carbs, so it’s not considered healthy. Cheese is abundant, the thick crust is super dense, and there’s no veggie in sight. It’s an inexpensive pizza perfect for sharing or binging, but it shouldn’t be on your weekly dinner list if you’re on any kind of dietary restrictions. 

3. Are they Worth it? [5/5]

You can’t go wrong with this pizza. It’s made fast and fresh- the dough is prepared in each location daily. The price is fantastic- you’ll pay less for two pizzas at Little Caesars than you’ll pay for one at most other chains. The dough is a bit heavy and dense, but it leaves you feeling full. It’s hot, cheesy, salty, hearty, and delicious. I think it’s definitely worth it.

Final Verdict

Both the Pretzel Pizza and Stuffed Pretzel Crust are excellent choices for families, kids, or a Friday night with Netflix. This pizza never disappoints. Bonus points if you order it for a gathering or kids’ birthday party. Everyone loves it.
