Combine all of the ingredients into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sauce begins to boil. Lower the heat and simmer covered for 30 to 45 minutes or until it's as thick as you like it.
This sauce can be stored in an air-tight container or jar in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days.
If you don't have tomato sauce, you can also use tomato paste.
If you really like herbs, you can add a bit extra than the recipe calls for.
