Coffee has become a “must have” in the American diet, partially due to the marketing efforts of Starbucks, the “king” of coffee. But, Starbucks knows they have to keep innovating to keep you coming back for more. That’s why you can choose from a variety of flavored teas, pastries, and even quick meals at many Starbuck’s locations these days. True to form, new Starbucks drinks were added to their menu in 2018. These items are available at their shops and include ready-to-drink items offered at some grocery stores. Here are some of the more noteworthy additions to the Starbucks 2018 round-up.
New, Ready-to-Drink Starbucks Options
When you’re in a hurry, nothing beats grab-and-go beverages. Starbucks has you covered with bottled options available at most grocery stores and gas stations.
One of the most popular items Starbucks offers in its stores is cold brew, a smoother, less acidic version of their popular iced coffee. In 2018, Starbucks added two new flavors of cold brew in single-serving bottles.
Sweetened Black Cold Brew
For more traditional cold brew lovers, there’s Sweetened Black Cold Brew with a touch of sugar to balance the blissful cocoa tones and help it go down smoothly. For the more adventurous, Vanilla and Fig Cold Brew combines the old-fashioned taste of vanilla with a hint of fig for a naturally sweet concoction that satisfies thirst when you’re on the go.
White Chocolate Mocha Latte
Love the fusion of coffee and chocolate? Then get ready for Starbuck’s ready-to-drink White Chocolate Mocha Latte. It’s a chocolate and coffee lover’s dream. If you’re avoiding dairy, the bottled Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink with Almond Milk is another option introduced in 2018. Best of all, it contains 35 percent fewer calories because it’s made with almond milk as opposed to dairy milk. This new rendition of ready-to-made drinks is available in mocha and vanilla to satisfy a variety of tastes.
Doubleshot Coffee Smoothies
2018 also saw the debut of Starbucks Doubleshot Coffee Smoothies made with almond milk and a hint of real fruit. Available in tantalizing flavors like vanilla honey banana and dark chocolate banana, these souped-up drinks add a new dimension to the traditional coffee beverage – gourmet coffee smoothies on the go! When you’re in a hurry, ready-to-drink options are a natural choice when you’re not near an actual Starbucks.
Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew
Testing out a new variation of the Cold Brew, Starbucks launched the Salted Cream version this year. This drink features the traditional Cold Brew that everyone knows and loves, as well as a bit of sweet caramel and a salted cold foam on top.
Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte
Since everyone decided they can’t have dairy in their diets anymore, Starbucks has taken full advantage of the alternative milk craze, with the Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte as their newest addition to the bill. It’s made with the same vanilla bean powder that every middle school girl used to get in their fraps back in the day. AKA, it’s bound to be good.
Cold Foam Tea Lemonades
If you need a break from coffee, Starbucks has colorful, almost artistic, beverages to sip during the fall of 2018. In June, they introduced frosty beverages called Cold Foam Tea Lemonades – and they’re not the typical lemonade your mama made. The two drinks called Summer Sunrise and Summer Sunset layers lemonade and tropical pineapple infusion for the ultimate thirst-quenching blend. Then, Starbucks tops this creation with cold foam flavored with Teavana Passion Tango herbal tea. Talk about layering on the flavor! (FYI – the cold foam in both of these creations contains milk, important to know if you’re lactose intolerant.)
Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher
Another variation on lemonade introduced by Starbucks is the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Starbucks Refreshers Beverage, a beverage that’s a visual feast with its eye-popping, bright pink color. This thirst-quenching beverage with a tropical theme promises to cool you off with a blend of lemonade, dragonfruit flavors, and sweet mango balanced in a way that only Starbucks can. Your barista then adds ice, handshakes it, and tops it off with bits of real dragon fruit and you still get a touch of caffeine from the natural green coffee flavoring they use.
Now, you have more ways to stay hydrated into the fall and winter. 2018 could be a standout year for coffee and tea lovers everywhere once they taste these new Starbucks creations. Wondering what else Starbucks has going on? Take a look at their full menu with prices.
