We have had more than our fair share of bad news for 2020. It’s a new year, and we are ready for some good news for a change, and Taco Bell is here to deliver. Taco Bell has announced the permanent return of its potato options to the menu.
Due to the pandemic, Taco Bell was forced to move entirely to drive-thru. The move led to noticeably longer lines and a severe strain on Taco Bell’s employees. Last year, Taco Bell decided to simplify its menu to alleviate the situation, getting rid of potatoes options in the process. Unfortunately, this meant getting rid of fan favorites like the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco (thank you 2020). Thankfully, Taco Bell has decided to return its potato options to its menus nationwide starting March 11th.
The announcement was made via Twitter by Taco Bell’s CEO, Mark King, who appeared in a video using a filter that made him look like a potato. In the video, King said, “Give us a minute to get them back to most restaurants, but know that we’re working hard to make things right.”.
In the announcement, King also announced that Taco Bell is “going big” on its vegetarian menu. Mark King added, “We are going above and beyond,” hinting at a potential partnership with Beyond Meat. Beyond Meat is widely known for its plant-based protein, which has grown in popularity over the years.
While the return of potato is still a few weeks off, there are still plenty of tasty options available on the Taco Bell Menu.
