By now, you have probably heard of the ever-increasing plant-based movement. In recent years, we have seen the rise of food options like “Impossible Meat, “ which tastes just like regular meat but entirely plant-based. If you are a fan of plant-based milk or just wanted to try it out, there is exciting news. Starbucks has recently announced that it will be offering Oat Milk nationally in the Spring of 2021.
While Starbucks has offered oat milk as an alternative milk option regionally in the past, this marks the first time it will be available nationwide. Starbucks’ oat milk will be a perfect addition to the chain’s line up of other non-dairy options such as soy and almond milk.
Starbucks is certainly no stranger to plant-based foods either. If you are a Starbucks fan, you may be familiar with the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich, which is entirely plant-based.
The announcement of Starbucks’ nationwide launch of its oat milk happened at the company’s biennial Investor Day. During it’s 2020 Biennial Investor Day, Starbucks president and CEO Kevin Johnson reaffirmed Starbucks Planet Positive Future and shared plans to cut the company’s carbon, water, and waste footprints by fifty percent by 2030.
During its Biennial Investor Day, CEO Kevin Johnson stated. “Our Planet Positive initiatives have a central role in our long-term business strategy, and directly address what our customers are asking for”. He then added. “We are moving toward a more circular economy, and we are doing so in a very intentional, transparent, and accountable way.”
Saving the planet is a cause we can all get behind.
While we wait on Starbucks’ nationwide launch of its oat milk options in Spring 2021, there are plenty of tasty options you can enjoy this holiday season, including the Christmas Cookie Frappuccino, which is available only on the Starbucks Secret Menu.
