McDonald’s is rolling out the Little Mac and the Double Big Mac nationwide in mid-March. The little Mac is, essentially, the Big Mac with only two buns and one patty. The Double Big Mac comes with four patties instead of two.
But, wait a minute… haven’t we seen these before?
In 2017 and 2018 they ran a very similar promo with the Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac. The Double Mac, on closer inspection, appears to have remedied the issues of its cousin, the Grand Mac. They’re about the same amount of food, just in different proportions. The Grand Mac’s downfall was that it was too wide, they seemed to have listened to this to come out with the Double Mac.
But we can’t be sure, because both the Double Mac and the Little Mac used ingredients that were already present in the McDonald’s kitchen, so it’s hard to say if they were listening to customers or thinking more pragmatically this time. Or, possibly, both.
On average, you can expect to pay an extra $1 or so for the Double Mac and about $3 less for the Little Mac than you would a Big Mac. Right now, we have no idea how long this promo will last, but we’re hoping long enough for us to try them!
Have you tried these yet? Let us know in the comments how they stacked up!
