McDonald’s is a successful fast food restaurant chain with outlets in more than 100 countries spread across the globe. This famous restaurant offers several fast food meals such as cheeseburgers, soft drinks, French fries, salads, and breakfast meals. Every day of the week, there are attractive deals available for their customers. Below, we explore these deals and discounts, as well as how to redeem your coupons.
McDonald’s Coupons
Although McDonald’s is known for its cheap fast food, they still offer customers discounts and coupons throughout the week to save even more.
McDonald’s App
With your Android or iOS devices, you can discover tons of exclusive discounts and promotions. Simply download the app for ioS or Android if you haven’t already. Then sign in with an existing account or create a new account. You’ll usually receive a coupon right away upon signing up, such as free Large Fries!
Once you are logged in, the home screen will show you a Deals section where you can scroll through the available McDonald’s coupons in your area. You can also access a list of deals by selecting the Deals button at the bottom of the screen.
The following country-wide McDonald’s meal deals and coupons are only redeemable via the app.
- $1 Large Fries (app only)
- $0.99 Any Size Premium Roast Coffee or Iced Coffee
- Free large fries when you download the app
- Buy 5 McCafé Drinks, get one on free
- Free Medium Fries with a $1 Minimum Purchase (Fridays only)
- Senior citizen’s offer – Order a soft drink or coffee for 59 cents.
There are also local coupons you can find on the app that are only redeemable at your nearest McDonald’s. Some of those deals include:
- Buy one Big Mac, get one for $0.01
- Free Small Minute Maid Slushie with a minimum purchase of $1
- $5 20-piece Chicken Nugget
- $5 off any purchase of $20 or more
- $2 Small Pumpkin Spice Latte
To redeem one of these online coupons, simply select the Deal on your screen and click “Add to Mobile Order.” Continue by selecting “Use Deal,” where you will be prompted to choose a nearby location to order from. Once you have selected a location, you will have the chance to customize your order. Then, click “Add To Order” and “Choose Payment Method” if everything looks right on your screen. Finally, tap “Place Order,” and you will be shown a receipt with a pickup time.
Email Subscription
Aside from the app, you can receive updates about McDonald’s promos by signing up for their email list. Simply enter your email and zip code, and you’re in!
On top of this, you get a sizable freebie for subscribing. Currently, Mcdonald’s is giving away a Cheeseburger, Sausage McMuffin, or McChicken, which can be a sweet addition to any of your orders. Make sure to order one to two days after registering so the coupon doesn’t expire!
If you already have the McDonald’s app, you might be wondering if there’s any advantage to subscribing to McDonald’s via email. Although the app will still probably be your main source of coupons, it’s easy to miss out on coupons because you don’t notice the app notifications, updates via email can be easier to notice.
Website Coupons
Another way to quickly view available McDonald’s coupons is to go to mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/deals.html or to click on the “Exclusive Deals” tabs of their website. The most popular McDonald’s coupons are listed here. Since McDonald’s updates the page frequently, you know for sure that these coupons are still valid.
Here are some of the coupons we’ve seen so far:
- $1 Large Fries
- $0.99 Premium Roast Coffee or Iced Coffee
- Free Medium Fries on Friday with a $1 Minimum Purchase
For drink coupons, you can usually take advantage of these every day, while food coupons tend to be valid only every week at most. Although you can view these on the McDo website, you’ll still have to download the app to redeem them.
Occasionally, you might also be able to spot McDonald’s coupons at coupon websites such as couponcabin.com, retailmenot.com, or groupon.com. Double-check with your branches if these are valid before using one.
Printable Coupons
Printable coupons are great because you don’t need a code, nor do you have to download an app. While most McDonald’s valid deals are housed online or on the mobile app and updated each week, there are a few ways you can score McDonald’s printable coupons and save more money. However, these promotions are not typically easy to find, and McDonald’s does not always share them online.
Still, you can typically find printable coupons that work at McDonald’s stores in your area or in your mail. Some franchises will send them out in certain zip codes. It’s also possible to spot coupons in newspapers and car park tickets. Just look in your local advertisements and be sure to use the promotions before they expire.
You might even be able to get coupons by answering a McDonald’s customer survey. If you look closely at your receipt, there might be instructions asking you to do an online survey within a week of your order. When you fill out the survey, you get an activation code that you can redeem at Mcdonald’s Stores for a Buy One Get One coupon.
McDonald’s Deals
Breakfast Deal
The main breakfast deal going on at McDonald’s is the $1 off breakfast sandwich special. At participating locations, you can get your discount on items like the Egg McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, and more.
2 for $5 Deal
McDonald’s 2 for $5 Mix and Match Deal comes up often throughout the year, so be sure to check back at a later date.
How it works is you choose two menu items for the low price of five bucks, including:
- Big Mac ® – includes two beef patties with lettuce, pickles, cheese, and onion
- Quarter Pounder® with Cheese – consists of a large beef patty with melted slices of cheese and other toppings
- Filet-O-Fish® – this is a burger with fried fish, cheddar cheese, and tartar sauce
- 10 piece Chicken McNuggets® – possible dipping sauces include BBQ, Spicy Buffalo, Ranch, and Honey Mustard
No promo code needed! Simply download the McDonald’s app and create an account to receive the promotion. If you download the app, you can also pay that way.
2 for $4 Deal
Another deal that McDonald’s runs every now and then is the 2 for $4 Deal. Unlike the 2 for $5 deal, which involves mealtime menu items, the cheaper 2 for $4 deal is focused on breakfast sandwiches.
For $4, you can purchase two breakfast sandwiches, with choices such as the Sausage McMuffin with Egg®, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McGriddles®, and Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit®.
The original price for each sandwich is at least $3, so you’ll be saving around two bucks with this deal.
Buy One Get One Deal
Another popular deal at the fast-food restaurant is Buy One Get, One Free (BOGO). Currently, the franchise is not advertising a nationwide BOGO promotion, but there is a solid history of this coupon returning multiple times throughout the year, so do not worry. The last nationwide BOGO promo was in November 2019, but it was Buy One, Get One for $1. Just like the 2 for $5 promo that is going on right now, you could choose from the Big Mac ®, Quarter Pounder® with Cheese, Filet-O-Fish® and 10 piece Chicken McNuggets®. In the past, McDonald’s has also offered customers a Buy One, Get One Free sandwich deal.
There’s a third BOGO deal that McDonald’s offers from time to time. This deal allows customers to buy anything off the menu, and get another item for free. For instance, customers could purchase the item of their choice and get a free McCafe Frappe.
Coffee Deal
Who doesn’t love hand-crafted McCafe drinks? From iced coffees to blended drinks, there are plenty of options. While McDonald’s coffee deals vary by location and are subject to change, the current offer allows you to get a free McCafe drink with the purchase of five drinks (any size).
There’s an extra requirement, though: you have to download the McDonald’s app. In the Deals section of the app, there’s a McCafe Rewards Card, with five slots for every drink that you have to order. Once all of these are checked off, you can get your free drink. If you want to speed up the process, you can even order several drinks all at once and each drink will count as a point!
To redeem your free drink, you have two options: you can either make an order through your phone, or the app will give you a code and you have to show it at the counter or drive-through. McCafe drinks included in this deal are hot coffee, hot tea, iced coffee, hot chocolate, frappes, macchiatos, mochas, smoothies, lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos.
