There are a lot doughnut shops in the U.S. but there can only be one Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme has established itself as a brand above the rest. It is definitely sweeter and tastier than the other brand that’s getting hit by the “Processed Sugar” issues on all sides. Maybe that’s the price you have to pay with size. On the other hand, Krispy Kreme is slowing inching its way on its expansion program. But before we get to that, we have to greet Krispy Kreme first on their 78Th birthday.
Happy 78th Birthday
If you are a true Krispy Kreme lover you should mark down July 10, 2015 on your calendar because it is going to be a very special day for you at Krispy Kreme. With the purchase of a dozen doughnuts of any variety, you can buy another dozen of the original Glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts for only 78 cents. Picture yourself coming home to surprise everyone with a dozen of Krispy Kreme’s delicious Birthday Cake Doughnuts and another dozen of Originals for 2nds, 3rds and 4ths. For the second part of this 78th birthday celebration, participating Krispy Kreme stores will have the special birthday drink-doughnut combo. The Krispy Kreme Birthday Cake Chiller; a sweet, creamy, cupcake-flavored iced beverage topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. And, the Birthday Cake Batter Doughnut; a doughnut filled with a blend of Kreme and birthday cake batter-flavored filling, topped with a cheerful yellow icing and bright confetti sprinkles.
Plus, Krispy Kreme is giving away special gifts for the first 150 party participants who will tweet #HBDKrispyKreme@KrispyKreme. And surprise-surprise, 3 of these lucky gift winners will win Free Doughnuts for a year.

Australian Krispy Kreme
As far as expansion is concerned another Krispy Kreme franchise grant has been awarded to another business group that’s into automobile services in Australia which makes you wonder, is there some kind of connection between Krispy Kreme and the automobile industry?
We are actually just days away from the grand opening of a Krispy Kreme store in Adelaide, Australia. Peregrine Corporation will be finishing on its construction of a Krispy Kreme – On-the-run service station and carwash.
South African Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme has signed yet another development agreement with KK Doughnuts South Africa to establish the company’s first venture into the continent.
KK Doughnuts is owned by John and Gerry’s Brands and Fournews. Gerry Thomas, CEO of KK Doughnuts SA is confident that with their group’s 15 years of experience in the local food industry together with their partnership with Fournews, they will be able develop Krispy Kreme’s iconic brand in the South African market. Krispy Kreme for the US Troops in Europe
And for the Americans stationed abroad, Krispy Kreme, through the efforts of the Army and Air force Exchange, will bringing a taste of home to the U.S. troops based in the military installations throughout Europe. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will soon be available to U.S. soldiers, airmen and their families who have already spent so long a time away from home.
The actual Krispy Kreme kitchen equipment will be shipped over to be used to create a variety of Krispy Kreme signature doughnuts that will be offered in the Army and Air force Exchange bakery in Gruenstadt, Germany that is currently already selling more than 200 American-branded products ranging from tortilla chips to bread.
Form the Gruenstadt bakery, the Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be distributed to other parts of Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey and the United Kingdom to reach our troops there.
While the other doughnut company is taking the blows, the sweet tasting Krispy Kreme doughnuts are taking on the world unnoticed. So far, Krispy Kreme has been playing it smart but wait until they get too big and then, they’ll get their share of the spotlight.
