Healthy and Affordable Fast Food

Healthy and affordable fast food may seem like an oxymoron but there are quite a few places that offer meals that have plenty of vegetables and are high in protein. If you want to eat a healthy meal, we suggest going to Subway or visiting the nearest Quiznos place.

If you are someone who would like to pick up a healthy alternative instead of getting greasy fries at your nearest McDonalds, then why not go to a sandwich place? Many sandwich places offer various ingredients such as tomatoes, lettuce, olives, cheese, chicken, and so forth. You will be able to customize your sandwich any way you want.

If you are someone who is constantly working each day but you don’t have enough time to make your own, it is a good idea to eat out during your lunch break. The best part about having a sandwich every few days is that you can switch it up whenever you like. For example, on Wednesday you can go for the Wheat sandwich with chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. On Friday, you might have cravings for a different type of sandwich such as the Flat bread sandwich with tuna, spinach, lettuce, and onions.

Healthy & Affordable Fast Food at Subway and Quiznos

Subway

Everyone loves eating at Subway because they have $5 sandwiches that taste absolutely delicious, especially when you are extremely hungry from working many hours at your job. Once you step in Subway, the fresh aroma of vegetables and healthy meat choices overwhelm your sense of smell. Right away, you want to dive in and eat your meal. At Subway, you can choose from many different selections to create your sandwich order.

Recently, they have added salads in a bowl with an option of having all the ingredients finely chopped or having large pieces of food to eat from. The choice really depends on how you want them to make it. The Subway prices are very affordable for anyone to pick up their favorite meal. For example, you can get a $5 foot long sandwich or pick up a $5 salad. On holidays, they will have specials for a six-inch sandwich going for $3 each. This is amazing, considering how big their sandwiches are.

The Subway menu has different prices based on what you want to add to your food. For example, their guacamole (this is just mashed up avocados) will cost an extra $1 to add. They recently added soups and pizzas to their menu as well. If you want to eat healthy food, why not get some chicken noodle soup? These are also great if you have the flu or just want to enjoy something that is warm in the winter. Their soups only cost $2 to $3 each, depending on the size that you get. Each sandwich costs $3 to $5 each and you’ll be able to choose from the six-inch or the foot long. As you can see, almost all of their selections are considered “healthy and affordable fast food” so it is possible to eat fast food that won’t give you too many calories or leave your stomach full of grease.

Quiznos

Quiznos prices are slightly on the expensive side but everything on their menu will make your taste buds melt from the pure deliciousness. You would normally pay $12 for a foot long sandwich, chips and a drink. If you just want a foot long deli, it would cost you just five dollars and up but this really depends on what you put inside your sandwich. A Quiznos sandwich is usually 8 inches long while the large size is up to 12 inches. It can cost you anywhere from $5 to $10 for a sandwich so the Quiznos prices are a bit more than Subway.

If you want healthy and affordable food in a large serving, then we recommend going to Quiznos instead of Subway. You can choose from their Italian Classic, The Meatball, Tuna, or Veggie Guacamole sandwich. They also have mouth-watering salads and wraps. You can get a Honey mustard chicken salad, Cobb wrap, or their Lobster Seafood Salad. They also have a Harvest Chicken wrap if you love eating chicken. As you can see here, Quiznos has a larger selection when it comes to salads and sandwiches. Although they are more expensive, you might enjoy eating here more but before you stick to one place, it is a good idea to try out the different fast food places.
