Sister companies Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s introduced the new Big Fried Cheese (BFC) Thickburger, an indulgent spin on the original Thickburger topped with a fried mozzarella and cheddar cheese patty. The burger also contains a 1/3 pound Angus beef burger, lettuce, tomato, and Star sauce, all on a toasted bun.
If you’re familiar with these two fast-food chains, you might know that they serve many of the same foods, but their menus are not entirely identical. In addition to the Big Fried Cheese Thickburger, Hardee’s has added a breakfast version of the burger, the BFC Frisco Breakfast Sandwich. This variation comes on sourdough bread and is stuffed with fluffy egg, Applewood-smoked bacon, and the new fried mozzarella and cheddar patty. Great timing to release a new AM sandwich with the upcoming launch of Wendy’s breakfast menu, too!
So, what was the muse behind these two cheesy masterpieces? The current campaign to promote Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s focuses on the tag line “Feed Your Happy,” with the spotlight on the two restaurants’ Happy Star mascot. Throughout the campaign, you’ll notice Happy Star encouraging adults to let go of their daily worries – whether it be stress at work or maintaining a healthy diet – and indulge in a BFC, instead
. The promotion for the BFC is aimed at a younger crowd, but we think people of all ages can benefit from sinking their teeth in fried cheese.
Pizza Hut recently released a fried cheese-topped menu item of its own, as well. Check out the new Mozzarrella Poppers Pizza.
