Would you resurrect a photograph of your ex if it meant you could snag a free Whopper? In honor of Valentine’s Day, Burger King wants to reward those who have ditched the wrong match by giving away a free Whopper to customers who bring in a picture of their old flame.
Burger King’s hilarious Valentine’s Day promotion didn’t come without a bit of inspiration. The fast-food chain is using this freebie to cross-promote the new movie, “Birds of Prey,” which enters in on bad-ass Harley Quinn who has just gone through a major breakup with former beau, The Joker.
BK’s witty giveaway pokes fun at the Harley Quinn’s ex-lover, with “Who needs a joker when you can have the King?” stamped on the top of the Whopper box. To redeem this offer, simply print off a photo of your ex and bring it to a participating location where you will slip it into a decorative break-up box.
Per a press release, “Guests in New York City can also bring in letters, stuffed animals or a specified piece of clothing to claim their reward.”
Before you going waving your ex’s selfie in a Burger King worker’s face, you should know that the Valentine’s Day promotion is only taking place at a handful of Burger King locations, inlcuding:
- New York City – 327 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036
- San Francisco – 35 Powell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
- Los Angeles – 545 North Victory Boulevard, Burbank, CA 91502
- Boston – 150 Everett Avenue, Chelsea, MA 02150
The New York City location will honor the giveaway from February 14-16, but the other particiapting restaurants will only host this deal on the day of Valentine’s Day. Perhaps this is the kind of closure you need.
