Summer Fast Food Drinks

Summer Shakes

Shakes are classic summer fast food fare, and there’s no shortage of delicious shakes available at your favorite fast food spot. Some versions stand out, though.

Arby’s Orange Cream Shake

The Orange Cream Shake is back at Arby’s for a limited time. This delightful orange shake is as beautiful as it is delicious. It tastes just like an orange creamsicle, but it won’t melt all over your hands.

Burger King’s Froot Loops Shake

This summer, Burger King is joining forces with America’s favorite breakfast cereal. The result is the sweet—if slightly weird—Froot Loop Shake. It’s a delicious blend of Kellogg’s Froot Loops cereal, flavored syrup, and vanilla soft serve, topped with whipped topping.

Culver’s Traditional Shakes

If you’re a purist, you probably prefer the no-nonsense to the outrageous when it comes to shakes. Culver’s offers a good-old, straight-up chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry shake made with 100% real ice cream. This traditional shake will transport you back to the soda fountain of days of yore.

Temperate Teas

Nothin’ like a tall glass of iced tea to cool a body down in a heat wave. These are tops in our book.

Wendy’s Freshly Brewed Iced Tea

Sometimes, you just want to guzzle a tall glass of unsweetened iced tea, the most refreshing summer drink of them all. But fast food iced tea can be tricky, coming to you out of a bag or sitting for a day or two in the big metal dispenser. Wendy’s prides itself on offering truly fresh tea at all times, so you’ll never be disappointed.

Panera Bread’s Iced Chai Tea Latte

This unique tea drink is made with freshly brewed black tea blended with vanilla, honey, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and steamed milk. It’s poured over ice for a sweet ’n’ savory summer refresher.

Jack in the Box’s Flavored Iced Tea

Both sweet and refreshing, Jack in the Box’s Raspberry, Peach, or Mango iced teas feature freshly brewed tea blended with real fruit flavors. They’re sweet, but not sickly so, making them a cooling beverage for a hot summer afternoon.

Sweet Sips

When the heat dissipates in the evening and you’re feeling brave enough to venture outside, head to a drive thru near you for one of these summer fast food drinks that doubles as dessert.

Chic-fil-A’s Frosted Strawberry Lemonade

A sweet, nostalgic treat, Chic-fil-A’s Frosted Strawberry Lemonade is a frosty combination of their special fresh-squeezed lemonade, vanilla Icedream™, and strawberry puree. Its flavor lies somewhere between old-fashioned romance and country roadside fruit stand.

Culver’s Root Beer Float

Toss a big old scoop of Culver’s vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard into a glass of sweet, crisp root beer, and you’ve got a traditional summer concoction for the ages. This creamy treat is a cold, comforting finish to a long, hot day.

Starbuck’s Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher

Starbuck’s Refreshers are made with real fruit juice and green coffee extract. Shaken and served over ice, the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher is an invigorating drink to boost your energy and cool your belly.

Summer Fast Food Drinks Keep You Cool

It’s important to find ways to stay cool in the heat this summer. Keeping yourself well-hydrated is a good start. Thankfully, in most cities, you can’t throw a rock without hitting a drive-thru that offers cool summer beverages, so head through every now and then for an icy treat to help you chill out and beat the heat.
